Everything I have ever had here has been so incredibly delicious.
I would eat here once a week if it weren't a little pricey.
That being said the prices are worth it.
Their sashimi pieces are big and flavorful. The miso is okay. The real reason you should come here is the pork belly buns.
I get a little overwhelmed whenever I first bite into those buns due to how good they are. They're fluffy, cooked and sauces to perfection. I could easily eat those once a week for the rest of my life.
Would highly recommend checking this place out! -

Preface
I'm not the biggest fan of sushi. Before this visit, I mostly ordered vegetarian maki because that's what I find the most satisfying.
That being said, on this particular visit, I decided to go for broke and step out of my comfort zone. I ordered the sushi combo and the spicy tako maki. It was such a delight and the ingredients really came alive! I was encouraged that I wasn't asked which kinds of nigiri I wanted. I love the surprise.
Give me the weird shit. It ended up not being as weird as I would have designed, but it was definitely a treat. California maki, salmon, tuna, unagi, shrimp, it was all good and definitely a dining experience. Service was wonderful, the environment was very chill.
Yes, I'd recommend Hungry Sumo. I'll go back, and bring friends. Worth the stop in if you're in the area. -

I loved my first visit to Hungry Sumo and can't wait to go back to try more things. We didn't have a reservation so it was about a 15 minute wait. There are plenty of places to visit on the same block if you need to kill some time. They also do carry-out.
The highlights of our meal were the Ursula roll and the Hottie Hottie appetizer. I also enjoyed the Beauty and the Beast and Mango Tango rolls. My husband got the sake flight because at $5, that's a great deal. The hostess and our server were great and really friendly. -

10/10 would recommend! I got the tonkotsu ramen and pork buns, and both were to die for! The ramen serving is very generous for a decent price. Very cozy, and warm environment! Great place for lunch :)

They have so many options here. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. My favorite part is their soy sauce made in-house.. best I've ever had. Highly recommend!! They have vegan and vegetarian options and if you are vegan ask for the vegan menu. Also make sure to request fresh wasabi for an extra kick. They play hip hop music and R&B which is pretty cool.
